DO Day on Capitol Hill
DO Day on Capitol Hill is the American Osteopathic Association’s flagship annual advocacy event, bringing together osteopathic physicians, residents, and medical students from across the country to engage directly with Congress. The event elevates the voice of the osteopathic profession in federal health policy by connecting AOA members with lawmakers and congressional staff who shape decisions affecting patient care, physician practices, and the healthcare workforce. Participants receive advocacy training and policy briefings before meeting with their U.S. Senators, Representatives, and staff to discuss priorities such as physician payment stability, graduate medical education, workforce shortages, access to care, and public health. By translating real-world clinical experience into clear policy messages, DO Day builds lasting relationships with policymakers and strengthens the profession’s influence on Capitol Hill.
